Legends put on a show
The Senior Open took to Sunningdale over the weekend and the golfing greats did not disappoint. Stephen Dodd held off the likes of Miguel Angel Jimenez, Darren Clarke & Bernhard Langer to win his first senior major title.
Dodd’s Saturday 62 – equalling both the course & tournament records – did most of the leg work, but his battling golf on Sunday was just as important; taking the challenge to Sunningdale with legends of the game breathing down his neck. The most impressive moment came on the 72nd green. Having hit a beautiful iron shot within 10-feet of the hole, Dodd held his nerve to sink the birdie putt and put himself one clear of Jimenez in second.
