Success story

Our Improver of the Month is Oxley Park senior member Alan Cox. As seen in these before and after photos below, we had to make significant improvements to his take away in just one session.

Range news

Progress is being made at The Golf Academy Range thanks to Ben Allen who is painting all of the range dividers. New baskets are on order. Don't let the dark nights stop you getting in some practice with our great value balls.

Club news

Plenty of great scoring of late at Oxley Park. Last Saturday was the Norman Raison Trophy which was won with 41 points by Peter James Faulkes. Runner-up on the day was Tom Beardmore with 40 points pipping two others on countback.

This week, Divison One of the Midweek Stableford was won by Jake Blount with 43 points playing off a handicap of 5. Runner-up was Steve Morgan with 39 points pipping three others on countback. Division Two's winner was Lee Mason with a more respectable 36 points winning on countback, beating M.Rogers and Scott Moore who also had 36 points. A great turn out yet again for both events.

Thought of the week

'It's feeling a bit autumnal out there'

That wonderful saying that means the summer is basically over. That might be disappointing for the sun worshippers and anyone who hasn't achieved the tan they wanted this year. However, the autumn months are a favourite time to play for many golfers; what with the golden leaves, receptive greens and warmish temperatures (hopefully).

Our only advice is that you make sure you check out the 2015 Autumn/Winter Collections arriving in store - there are some great options to help you playing golf through the milder months. Golf's top brands continue to give us some fantastic choices in terms of layering, and modern outerwear helps us to continue playing through the winter with garments that work with the golf swing.

September and October really are super months to enjoy golf, that's why we're so looking forward to the British Masters in October. Summer's gone but there's lots more golf to enjoy. Pop by the shop to check out our outerwear ranges and keep your eye out for some really big new equipment launches. To view the latest products across board in your pro shop, visit our website here and then click on shop, new in store.

We hope you enjoy the rest of the newsletter and have a great weekend.

Golf Care insurance

Wherever you tee it up, we want to make sure you have adequate cover. With golfers being sued for shots that cause injury, it's not worth taking the risk - especially when you take out a policy through us, which will cost you less than that of an average green fee. Click here to find out more.
