TGA Director in the spotlight
This week TGA Director Craig Thomas is once again in the spotlight at Close House in Newcastle, working with the PGA and ISPS Handa helping to raise awareness of Blind and Disabled Golf at the PGA Seniors Championship. Craig has helped 1000s of people with disabilities to give golf a go as well as many more with out. Craig's involvement this week is to bring local community groups and schools to Close House to experience golf for the first time. Craig also co-ordinated and delivered a clinic on the driving range prior to the Pro-Am on Wednesday with a group of disabled golfers including two European Champions. These players then went on to play in the Pro-Am. You can find the full press release here.
Keep your eyes for Craig on the highlights of the event on Sky Sports this Saturday evening.
Wedge Warning
Welcome to this week's newsletter, an email that comes with a warning! As you can see here, it's one part of the bag that often gets overlooked, golfers settling for a PW or SW that come with a standard set of irons.
However, the bottom end of your bag contains your scoring clubs and we're certain we can help you to really lower your scores by equipping you with custom fit wedges that fill the gaps in your bags.
Does your bag look like this? If so, we dare say you're leaking shots because you don't have the wedges you need for the various yardages you face over the course of a round.
Come and see us and in no time at all we can have the bottom end of your bag dialled in.

Captain's Day at Oxley Park
Sunday (7th June) was our first experience of Captain's Day at Oxley Park. A great day was had by all with fantastic weather. The day was made better thanks to Srixon for sponsoring the competition which meant that every player received a FREE sleeve of balls before teeing off. TGA Director and PGA Pro Craig Fletcher enjoyed over five hours on hole 14 for 'beat the pro' helping to raise over £160 for Captain's Charity. Also, to add to the day, PING kindly allowed us to use their demo clubs for a 'beat our drive' on hole 18 which again was welcomed by all members. Amazingly over 70 golfers hit the PING clubs further than their current clubs. Winner of the draw for beat your drive was Chris Carey winning a PING cap.
Finally, it was great to see two of the junior members in the prizes with James Black winner of Division Two and overall lowest score (pictured centre in the final photo above). Brandon Craggs and Adam Sand were also in the prizes.
