Hello everyone,
It's been a busy two weeks for Academy Director and PGA Fellow Professional Craig Thomas. Last week saw Craig travel to Dundonald Links, just five minutes from Troon, where he was working on behalf of Aberdeen Asset Management co-ordinating the family golf zone (pictured below) and heading the VIP clinics which were delivered on the range while the players were busy preparing for the round.
Craig's role also involved bringing local schools and community groups to the event and again deliver coaching clinics which included a number of LPGA Tour players. This can be seen in the photos below, as well as the kids having some fun on the range with Kyle Walker and the Scottish Minister for Sport.
Craig's next stop was Hungary for the first R&A Golf Developers meeting and ASK workshops. Craig is a member of a small group of professionals (24) who the R&A use to deliver its working for golf missions around the world. Day one in Hungary was the first time the R&A had brought together the coaches to meet each other and to share ideas and missions they had been on.
Day 2 was a day of workshops. The PGA of Europe hosted its first ASK workshops where 12 expert coaches were invited to present on their area of expertise to professionals from across Europe. Craig had this to say:
"It's a great honour and privilege to be part of such a great team of coaches and to be asked to present alongside my piers is something I never thought would happen."
