Golf Academy news
Craig's role was very different to his normal duties when working on the Ladies European Tour last week. At Dundonald, Craig was tasked with introducing as many children and families to the game and event. Here are a few images from the event.
Whilst at The Ladies Scottish Open at Dundonald Links last week, on Wednesday a spot became available for an amateur to play in the three-day Pro-Am as part of the event and Mike Bird was on hand to take the opportunity to play in the event which would have cost over £2500 to play in! Mike was given the full VIP treatment with a luxury goody bag invite to the pre-event Gala Dinner and three rounds of golf with his partner - past winner Laurette Maritz of South Africa. Here is Mike teeing off on hole 10 during his second round.
One of our up and coming pupils of The Golf Academy represented Staffordshire last week in the under 14s Four Counties Championships. Congratulations to Yaz Oakley for making the team and it's great to see your hard work is bringing the benefits. He can be seen third from the left in the first photo below.
Graham Coulson and Greg Kitson were on top form this week in the Bloxwich Senior Pairs Open. This was a betterball stapleford format off of three-quarter handicap. Approximately 100 teams entered. Congratulations, guys! They can be seen in the second photo above.
PING's latest releases
Just this week PING has released their latest two irons to accompany their G30 range. PING has pushed the boat out in terms of the technologies featured in its new GMax irons. They're longer, more forgiving and they offer greater control than any clubs PING has previously produced. They also look great and sit beautifully behind the ball.
Better players will love the performance of the new i iron. The carefully engineered geometry of the head and hosel allows for greater workability and trajectory control. But PING hasn't made sacrifices on forgiveness to achieve the aim of playability. This is largely thanks to the progressive weighting through the set.
