Greetings golfers,

Welcome back to another edition of The Golf Academy newsletter. This week we highlight a few students who have made big improvements to their swings and we also have a bit of news from TGA director Craig Thomas, who recently helped lead the England disabled golf team to a win the Swedish Invitational.

Another busy week of helping golfers to improve

Here are two examples of simple but effective changes made by two players.

Player 1

On the left Jon had poor hip rotation (deliberate) on the backswing this affected his shoulder rotation which was also causing him to lift. We increased his hip rotation and, not only did it make his swing feel freer, but his arm position at the top was also greatly improved.

Player 2

On the right Dan was getting the club a little long and low at the top of his swing, although it's still a little across the line you can see that he has improved the length of backswing, giving him more control of the club moving into the downswing.

England Disabled Golf

Another proud moment for me as Head Coach of the England Elite Disabled Golf Team!

Congratulations to George Groves for winning the Gross Category, from being 5 behind going into the last round, he won by 1 shot after holding his nerve on the last hole.

Also congratulations to Team England consisting of Mike Gays, Mick Horsley, and George Groves, who won the Team Event.
